Isabel Vue Gallery, a contemporary art gallery in San Francisco, is opening its doors and looking for new artists to represent. Our Open Door | Final 2026 call invites artists working across painting, sculpture, photography, and works on paper to submit work for consideration toward upcoming exhibitions and gallery representation.
We represent artists whose practice engages deeply with material, memory, and the present moment — spanning continents, mediums, and generations.
Isabel Vue Gallery is a new San Francisco contemporary art gallery launching through the SF Vacant to Vibrant program, with a physical space opening late 2026 / early 2027. "Near Field" is our inaugural open call — a juried, group exhibition that will introduce the gallery's program and the artists who will define its first year.
The title "Near Field" gestures at proximity: to the present moment, to material, to one another. We're interested in work that sits close to its subject — work that earns its decisions, that doesn't reach past what it can hold. This is not a thematic show. It's a survey of strong contemporary voices working across painting, photography, sculpture, mixed media, video, and installation.
We are reading for clarity of intent, rigor of execution, and a point of view that feels specific rather than borrowed. We welcome artists at every career stage — emerging through established — and we evaluate work on the work alone. Identity is not a selection criterion; neither is institutional pedigree.
From this call we will select 8–15 artists for the inaugural group exhibition, opening at our San Francisco space in early 2027. Selected artists will be featured in the show, included in a printed catalog, and offered a studio visit with the gallery as we shape our 2027–2028 program. Three artists will receive cash awards. All selected work will be considered for representation conversations and future solo or two-person projects at the gallery.
We are building a gallery we'd want to walk into. This is where we start.
Please submit 5 works along with the requested information below. All fields marked required must be completed for your submission to be reviewed. Submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis by the curatorial team.
