The art competition “The Spirit of the Times” is organized by the “SIVIERA Arte” Association (Verbania, Italy) and aims to select two-dimensional works (no 3D) that interpret the proposed theme through diverse personal languages, styles, and approaches.
The call is open to artists working in the field of Contemporary Art. Each participant may submit a maximum of 2 works.
A judging panel will select 6 works. The selected artists will have the opportunity to exhibit in the 4th edition of the collective exhibition “Incontriamoci in Villa Simonetta – La Collettiva delle Collettive,” which will take place in Verbania (Italy) from April 24, 2026, to May 10, 2026.
Format
• Width of the work: minimum 30 cm – maximum 100 cm
• Height of the work: minimum 30 cm – maximum 170 cm
• Accepted supports: canvas, panel, primed paper, rigid boards
Technique of Execution / Medium
The technique is free; by way of example, and not exhaustively, it may include: oil, acrylic, tempera, watercolor, fiber art, collage, bas-relief, etc.
A frame is not mandatory; if present, it must be included within the specified dimensions.
Works must be equipped with hanging hardware, ready for display.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
No later than 08/03/2026, participants must send the following documentation to the email address [email protected]:
• Completed and signed registration form (Art. 14 of this Call for Entries)
• For each work submitted:
o 1 general photograph
o 2 detail photographs
• Brief description of the work / interpretative key (max 500 characters, spaces included)
• Artist’s biography (max 800 characters, spaces included)
• Copy of the bank payment for the participation fee
The absence of even one of the required documents at the time of submission will result in automatic exclusion from the competition.
TERMS AND DEADLINES:

• Jury evaluation: 08/03/2026 – 15/03/2026
• Results announcement: 16/03/2026 – 20/03/2026
• Shipping of works to the organizers: 20/03/2026 – 15/04/2026

• Inauguration: 24/04/2026 at 5:00 PM
• Return of works: 11/05/2026 – 15/06/2026
PRIZES AND RECOGNITIONS:

• A catalog of the exhibition, delivered at the end of the show
• Publication of images of the works on the exhibition’s official social media channels
• Promotion of the event through local and online information channels
