Reception: Saturday, November 21, 3 -- 5 PM

International Encaustic Artists is a non-profit, artist-run membership organization providing professional opportunities for visual artists working in encaustic, dedicated to the exploration and promotion of encaustic painting through the sharing of information, resources, exhibitions, and marketing opportunities.

The theme of Another Way of Keeping a Diary is based on Picasso's statement that 'Painting is another way of keeping a diary.' In this exhibit, artists will reflect, examine and demonstrate through encaustic the ways in which their art-making is a reflection of both inner life and personal history -- recording what is most meaningful through their art.

San Luis Obispo Museum of Art is located in the downtown cultural center of San Luis Obispo, a university city, and is the hub of the California Central Coast art community. The Gray Wing is SLOMA's spacious main gallery. San Luis Obispo's charming historic downtown boasts a variety of artisan restaurants, boutique shopping, farmers' markets, festivals, and cultural offerings you'd expect from a much larger city. Beautiful beaches, countless wineries, Spanish missions, and an abundance of recreational opportunities abound throughout the area.
