IDEAS_13: “Celebrate what we build and how it will impact the future” is an exhibition of artistic and innovative digital work. This iDEAS exhibition coincides with the eleventh annual International Digital Media and Arts Association (IDMAA) conference, to be held on the campus of LCAD in Laguna Beach, CA. Digital art works may be represented as interactive pieces, animation, video, imagery, virtual spaces, sound, sculpture and hybrid media. Any piece using digital innovation to communicate an aesthetic idea is welcome.
iDEAS_13 will give artists an opportunity to share work that tells the story of where they have been as well as communicate where there are now in this ever-changing digital spectrum. Along with your visual work, artists are invited to submit a 250-word statement with each piece.
iDEAS_13 will display art and accept essays that seek to communicate the story of digital art over the last decade. We will consider retrospective story in the broadest sense and anticipate works that are linear or nonlinear and literal or metaphorical.
Artists that exhibit in iDEAS_13 and attend the iDMAA conference, will also be given the opportunity to participate Bird’s of a Feather Sessions, and share the inspiration, insights, process behind their work.
