Huron Valley Council for the Arts now accepts proposals for our 2026 gallery year. This year we are taking online and in-person gallery shows. This call is open to Michigan artists, groups, and curators in Southeastern Michigan for in-person exhibits and anywhere else for online exhibitions, in any traditional and non-traditional visual arts media, genre, subject matter, and content. All artists are eligible to submit individually or via a designated leader as a cohesive group. Those selected will exhibit for approximately one to two months in the beautiful historic Steeple Hall Gallery. Also, HVCA will provide advertising and a 'Meet the Artist' wine and appetizer reception for in-person and an online reception that is planned out in collaboration with the artist. While our final deadline is November 30, all entrants are encouraged to apply earlier as we reserve the option of assigning months in advance of the deadline. Please note that there is a weight limit of 25 lbs for hanging items, and hanging works cannot exceed 48 inches in any direction. If accepted, work must be hand-delivered or emailed for a virtual show; unsold items must be picked up personally at the show's conclusion. Artists are encouraged to consider submitting work in the $100-$500 price range, which seems to result in the most successful sales at our venue. Questions? ELIGIBILITY: Participation is open to all artists in Southeast Michigan 18 years or older for in-person exhibits and everywhere else for online exhibitions. Works in all media are accepted. All artwork must be original, created solely by the artists, and completed within the last two years. Any artwork previously exhibited at HVCA is not eligible. All exhibited work must be for sale.

PRESENTATION: If selected for an in-person exhibit, all artwork must be delivered ready for presentation. We encourage consistency in matting and framing. Framed artwork must be delivered with appropriate glass or plexiglass and properly secured hanging wire. No saw-tooth hangers, please. Artwork delivered unprepared for presentation WILL NOT be accepted.

SALES A commission of 35% is charged on all artwork sold. If accepted, your entry grants HVCA permission to photograph your work and use your images for promotional or educational purposes only. Further, your submission of artwork shall constitute an agreement to comply with all conditions outlined in this prospectus. The jurors reserve the right to reject any artwork not accurately represented by photos or electronic images. The decision of the jurors is final. All accepted artwork will remain as placed by the installation committee and may not be withdrawn before the exhibit's close.

WAIVER/RELEASE: By signing this Application Form, participant hereby agrees that The Art Shop (TAS), the Huron Valley Council for the Arts (HVCA), Highland Township (Township) and Highland Station House (HSH), shall not be liable for any loss, injuries or damages sustained by any participants, his/her heirs, or any person or organization, arising out of your participation in any event, including the loss or damage to work exhibited or on-premises. Participants hereby fully and forever release TAS, HSH, HVCA, Township, and their volunteers from all causes of action, claims, and demands of any nature that arise out of any event.
