The 3rd Annual Hull Artists Regional Juried Show

ELIGIBILITY

Artists living in Hull, MA, and the surrounding region are eligible, provided they can pick up and drop off their work in person.

Members of Hull Artists receive a discounted entry fee and commission rate.

All work must be original work and not done as part of a classroom or workshop with input from an instructor.

All work must have been completed within the past 4 years.

Only art that has not previously been exhibited at a Hull Artists Juried Show is acceptable.

Only art that can be hung on walls is permitted for this exhibit. Mediums may include drawings, paintings, fiber arts, photographs, mixed media, printmaking, or other 2-dimensional pieces.

ENTRY

The deadline for submitting entries is midnight, Sunday, April 7th.

All entries must be submitted through EntryThingy.com at the 3rd Annual Hull Artists Regional Juried Art Show.

Artists must upload images of their artwork in jpg/jpeg format. Your photo's file size should be between 500 kb and 8 MB. The minimum length on the shortest side should be 900 pixels. Most cell phone photos will meet this requirement.

Your submitted image(s) should be of your artwork ONLY. (do not include the matte and frame.) After uploading your image, you will be asked for the artwork's dimensions, NOT including the frame.

All artwork must be original and, if accepted, may not be withdrawn or substituted.

All artwork must be for sale.

If artwork is significantly different from the image submitted, HA reserves the right not to include the piece in the show.

ENTRY FEE AND COMMISSION

Each Non-Member artist is limited to 6 entries at $15 for one, 2 for $30, 3 for $40, 4 for $55, 5 for $70, or 6 for $80

Each Hull Artist Member is limited to 6 entries at $10 for one, 2 for $20, 3 for $25, 4 for $35, 5 for $45, or 6 for $50

You will be asked to pay to complete your submission.

Secure payment is made on EntryThingy.com by PayPal or Credit Card.

HA Members will receive 70% of the selling price on sold art. HA receives a Commission of 30% on sold art.

Non-Members will receive 60% of the selling price on sold art. HA receives a commission of 40% from sold art.

All sales must be made through and recorded by Hull Artists.


PROMOTION AND SALES PROCESS

The show will be promoted on the HA website, social media, email announcements, and articles in print and digital media. In addition, the opening reception will be promoted.

To purchase a piece, a buyer will contact HA Member Lara Williams at: [email protected] or 617-448-0764 to arrange for the buyer to pay for it at Gallery Nantasket by cash, check, or credit card. HA will then mail a payment check for 70% of the sale price for HA Members or 60% for Non-Members.

The buyer will be requested to keep the piece in the show until the conclusion, but if they want it at purchase, that will be accommodated.

ARTWORK PRESENTATION

All fine art and photographs must be properly framed (or gallery-wrapped canvas) and wired for hanging (i.e., no clip-on frames or sawtooth hangers). Other mediums that are not meant to be framed are acceptable. Photographs mounted on glass or metal are acceptable.

Each piece submitted must include a label on the back with your name, phone number, title, and price. Labels will be emailed when accepted art is announced.

HA reserves the right not to accept any art deemed unsuitable for hanging or presentation.

JURIED SELECTION and NOTIFICATION

The juror will determine acceptance and awards.

A description of the juror and the link to their website will be provided when available.

Accepted art will be announced on April 17 by email and posted on the HA website.



OPENING RECEPTION

An opening reception and awards ceremony will be held at the Nantasket Beach Resort. Date & Time TBA.

LIABILITY

All due care will be used in handling the work submitted; however, HA cannot be held responsible for loss or damage. This includes loss of work from the hotel venue.

KEY DATES

April 17, the announcement of accepted pieces

May 9, 9-10 AM drop off accepted pieces at the Nantasket Beach Resort (45 Hull Shore Drive, Hull)

Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony Date & Time TBA.

June 13, 9:00-10:00 AM. Pick up unsold artwork at the Resort.
