2021 Hull Artists Members Juried Exhibit

ELIGIBILITY

All members of Hull Artists are eligible to enter. Artists may join or renew online at www.HullArtists.com/Join.

All work must be original work and not done as part of a classroom or workshop with input from an instructor.

All work must have been completed within the past 3 years.

Only art that was not included in the 2020 Members Exhibit will be accepted. Only art that can be hung on walls is permitted for this exhibit. Mediums may include drawings, paintings, photographs, mixed media, printmaking, fiber art, or other 2-dimensional pieces.


ENTRY

The deadline for submitting entries is midnight, on Saturday, May 1.

Register, for free, to create your account. Your contact information is confidential and will be used only in the context of this exhibit. No artist statement or resume is required.

Artists will be required to upload images of their artwork in jpg/jpeg format. Your photo's file size should be between 500 kb and 8 MB. The minimum length on the shortest side should be 900 pixels. Most cell phone photos will meet this requirement.

Your submitted image(s) should be of your artwork ONLY. (Do not include the matte and frame). After uploading your image, you will be asked for the dimensions of the artwork NOT including the frame.


ENTRY FEE AND COMMISSION

Each artist is limited to 6 entries at $10 each or 3 for $25; 4/$35, 5/$45, 6/$50

You will be asked to pay to complete your submission.

Payment is made on EntryThingy by PayPal or Credit Card.

A Commission of 30% will be taken on all sold art.

PROMOTION AND SALES PROCESS

The show will be promoted on the HA website, social media, email announcements, and articles on social media.

To purchase a piece a buyer will contact Sandra Weeks who will arrange for the buyer to pay for it at Gallery Nantasket by cash, or credit card. HA will then mail a payment check for 70% of the sale price to the artist.

The buyer will be requested to keep the piece in the show until the conclusion, but if they want it at purchase, that will be accommodated.

ARTWORK PRESENTATION

All fine art and photographs must be properly framed (or canvas gallery wrapped) and wired for hanging (e.g., no clip-on frames or sawtooth hooks). Other mediums that are not meant to be framed are acceptable.

For each piece submitted include a label on the back with your name, phone number, title, and price. Labels will be emailed when accepted art is announced.

HA reserves the right to not accept any piece of art deemed not suitable for presentation.

JURIED SELECTION

A panel of three jurors, Keith Conforti, Nancy Howell, and Karie O'Donnell (not members of Hull Artists) will select the pieces for the show and the awards.

Accepted art will be announced on May 6 by email and posted on the HA website.
Descriptions of the jurors and/or their links will be provided.

OPENING RECEPTION

On Monday, May 17 at 7:00 PM, a virtual opening reception will be held on Zoom to announce the award winners and present a slide show of the accepted pieces. The slide show will later be posted on the HA website.

LIABILITY

All due care will be used in handling the work submitted, however, HA cannot be held responsible for loss or damage. This includes loss of work from the hotel venue.
