Helen Bumpus Gallery, a not-for-profit art showcase in Duxbury MA. 77 Alden St. on the main floor of the Duxbury Free Library.
DEADLINE: March 12, 2026 by midnight EDT. Submissions begin Feb. 1, 2026.
Each artist may enter up to 5 images.
IMAGE SPECS: 1200 pixels on longest side, 72 dpi, JPEG, sRGB color space.
NAMING FILES: LastName.FirstInitial_Title.jpg (Example: Smith.J_BumpusWin.jpg)
ARTWORK SIZE: no larger than 30in x 30in
ENTRY FEE: $20 per per entry. No refunds for images not selected.
ELIGIBILITY: Submissions are welcome from South Shore & Greater Boston artists who create art to hang on walls. Images previously exhibited in Bumpus Gallery are not eligible.
PRIZES: First Place $150, Second Place $75, Third Place $50.
JUROR: Craig Bloodgood, Deputy Director & Contemporary Curator at the Art Complex Museum in Duxbury, MA.
EXHIBITION DETAILS:
• Accepted artwork will be exhibited in Helen Bumpus Gallery May 5-June 29.
• Work must be two dimensional (30 x30 inches maximum size), wired and ready for hanging on a gallery wall (no saw tooth hangers, no French cleats, no corner hanging hardware).
• All works must be available for sale throughout the show and conform to the image, price, title & dimensions originally uploaded to EntryThingy.
• All accepted images will appear on the Gallery’s website and be archived under "Previous Exhibits" after the show concludes.
• Selected video interviews with accepted artists will be posted to the Gallery’s social media accounts.
SALES, COMMISSIONS & COPYRIGHT:
• Artists retain all copyrights to their own images.
• Artists receive 60% from sales of their work in the juried show.
• All work exhibited in Serendipity must be for sale and remain in the Gallery until the dismantling of the exhibition. [PLEASE NOTE: The Gallery will manage the collection of Massachusetts Sales Tax on all art sales during the exhibition.]
• In the event of a sale through the Bumpus Gallery website, where paid by PayPal, the PayPal fees (3.49%) will be deducted from the price before commissions to the artist and Gallery are calculated.
• Artists whose work is chosen for the exhibition grant Helen Bumpus Gallery permission to use their images while promoting the show, the artist, or the Gallery and its programs.
• Images may be placed on social media for promotion and archived on the Gallery’s website (www.helenbumpusgallery.com).
• Artists grant usage of their images as stated without further compensation.
