Sculpture Garden Permanent Installation

The Arts, Hancock County, Mississippi (“The Arts”) is seeking outdoor sculptures to be permanently installed on the grounds of the Mamie Hillery Arts Center, at 405 Blaize Avenue, Bay St. Louis, Mississippi. The exhibit space surrounds a building open to the public. Artwork will be placed throughout the site at the sole discretion of the Sculpture Committee of The Arts, Hancock County.

The purpose of the Sculpture Garden is to complement the architectural character and natural beauty of Bay St. Louis and the Mississippi Gulf Coast.
The selected sculptures should represent inspirational and invigorating experiences in our lives.

Selection Criteria:
Experienced sculptors are invited to submit outdoor works for consideration. Artists must have documented experience with the design and construction of permanent outdoor sculpture.
This call is open to all artists who meet these requirements. The Arts, Hancock County will purchase the works selected for permanent installation. The Arts is accepting submissions up to $50,000.00, including transportation and installation.

Submitted work must adhere to the following design parameters:
* Only original works of art created by the artist will be considered.
* Submissions may include a pre-existing sculpture or sketches of a proposed sculpture.
* Works should be scaled appropriately for size of the Sculpture Garden, which is slightly less than one acre.
* Maximum height 12 feet.
* Specification of all materials, accompanied by an explanation of how these materials will withstand environmental elements.
* Sculpture must be guaranteed against defects.
