“The Arts, Hancock County” invites artists from across the nation to submit original works for our Biennial Juried Exhibition, a celebration of contemporary creativity and artistic excellence.
We welcome submissions in the following categories: • Painting • Drawing • Sculpture • Mixed Media

This exhibition is designed to showcase diverse artistic voices while fostering connections between local artists and the broader national arts community through a professionally curated exhibition with a national perspective.

Artists are encouraged to submit work that reflects originality, innovation, and strong artistic vision. Selected works will be featured in a dynamic exhibition highlighting the richness and diversity of contemporary art practice. We look forward to celebrating exceptional talent and creating an inspiring experience for artists, collectors, and the community alike.

2nd Place — $500
3rd Place — $250
4 Honorable Mentions —$100 for each category

*Open to artists residing in the United States, age 18 and older.

Entry Fee is as follows: $25 for 1st entry $10 for each additional entry *limit 3 entries per artist

Meet Your Judges:
Emily Feazel:
Emily Young Feazel is the Designer of Exhibits and Special Events at the R.W. Norton Art Gallery in Shreveport, Louisiana, where she has worked since 2011. She curates traveling and solo artist exhibitions and develops innovative public programs that connect visitors with the museum’s collections, exhibitions, and botanical gardens. During her tenure, Emily has organized exhibitions featuring artists including Ashley Longshore, James Michalopoulos, and Laura Wilson, while also creating original exhibitions drawn from the Norton’s permanent collection.

Gene Meneray:
Co-Founder of The Ella Project, an artist services and pro bono arts law organization in New Orleans. He is Chair of the Louisiana State Arts Council and a board member and former Executive Director of the Louisiana Crafts Guild. He also produces the arts markets at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation’s annual community festivals.

Jan Auleta:
Has been a mixed media artist her entire life. Majoring in ceramics, painting, etching and lithography at the Boston Museum School. She did a residency at the Skowheagon School of Painting and Sculpture studying under Alex Katz and Peter Voulkos. She is currently working on painting and collage, wooden wall sculptures and totems. Her work focuses on the feminine.
