The Small Works 2024 exhibition at the Charles H. Taylor Visual Arts Center is an exhibition open to all Hampton regional and Virginia artists. Awards are given for First ($200), Second ($150) and Third ($100) Places along with five Awards of Merit in two categories, Small Works and Miniatures.

Artists are invited to submit up to six artworks total for consideration. Two-dimensional artworks must be no larger than 8 x 10 inches (INCLUDING FRAME). Three-dimensional works must be no larger than 8 inches on any side. 2D artworks smaller than 20 square inches and 3D artworks smaller than 5 inches cubed are considered 'Miniatures'. Open to all media. The entry fee is $40 ($35 for HAL Members) for up to six artworks.

The submission deadline is Sunday, October 27 at 11:59pm.
Because the exhibition runs through the holidays, artworks selected to be included in the exhibition that are for sale may be removed at the time of purchase during the exhibition.
Notification to artists will be sent by email by end of day November 1st.

2024 Small Works Size Guidelines -
2D Maximum artwork size is 8 x 10 inches (INCLUDING FRAME)
3D Maximum artwork size not to exceed 8 inches on any side or diameter

Artwork delivery dates for accepted artworks are November 5 - 9 from 10:30am - 5:30pm. Artists shipping their work must include or email a return shipping label for their artwork. The deadline for shipped work is November 5th.
