The Greenwich Art Society Member Exhibit Theme Holding Space

Our Annual Member Exhibition will be at the Bendheim Gallery of this fall.

'Holding Space' as a theme encompasses smaller works that create room for reflection, tension or stillness. Scale determines what is allowed in or kept out.
Digital entry is open to all members. By submitting artwork you are confirming that it is original artwork created by you and not generated by AI. Digital images must accurately represent the art.
New size requirement is that wall art must not exceed 30 inches width and 60 inches length.

ENTRY: Works are not eligible if previously accepted for one of our juried exhibitions, if they have been exhibited in the Bendheim, Flinn or GAS Galleries or if completed prior to 2022. All submitted work must be attractively and appropriately matted, framed and or presented. Unframed stretched canvas must be a least 1.25 inches in depth. Works on paper must be framed. All works must be for sale. If a portrait, the price of a similar commission must be stated. No PORs.

ENTRY FEE: Automatically become a member of G.A.S. upon entry! Membership valid through August 2026. For annual, new member or membership renewal of $75, the artist can submit up to 2 pieces of art. Fee for entering 3 pieces $100 includes 2026 membership. All fees non-refundable. Multiple entries from the same artist must be submitted at the same time.
Exhibition dates: October 23 - November 20, 2025
Accepted artwork only will be brought to the gallery for the exhibition which will be live and in person.

NO SHIPMENTS OF ARTWORKS ACCEPTED. WORK MUST BE HAND DELIVERED IN PERSON.

LIABILITY/ SALES: Insurance coverage is the responsibility of the artist. Although care will be taken, neither the GAS, The Greenwich Arts Council nor the Town of Greenwich will be responsible for loss or damage. Entry constitutes agreement to this condition. GAS and The Greenwich Arts Council retains 30% commission for all sold art. Sales of displayed works within 3 months of the close of the exhibition will be subject to this charge.

Juror: Roxanne Smith is the Jennifer Rubio Assistant Curator of the Collection at the Whitney Museum of American Art. At the Whitney, Roxanne has curated (and co-curated) the recent exhibitions Shifting Landscapes (2024-2026), Raque Ford: A little space for you right under my shoe (2024-2025), and Wanda Gág?s World (2024). Additionally, she served on the curatorial teams for Collection View: Louise Nevelson (2025), Survival Piece #5: Portable Orchard (2024-2025), Rose. B Simpson: Counterculture (2023-2024) and The Whitney?s Collection: Selections from 1900-1965 (2019-2025). She is currently co-curating the upcoming exhibition High Wire: Calder?s Circus at 100 (opening in October 2025). She holds a B.A. from Kenyon College and a M.A. from Columbia University.
