The Furniture Society is excited to participate in the 26th annual International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF) at Javits Center in New York City, May 17- 20.
This year we are looking for eight up-and-coming furniture makers to display their work at the show and the criteria is open to all types and categories of furniture.
The final participants chosen will be comprised of, three students or apprentices and five professional furniture makers.
This year's show entries will be judged by legendary furniture designer and Furniture Society Award of Distinction honoree, Vladimir Kagan.
All chosen participants will have their work advertised, shipped by a designated shipper, and shown at ICFF by the Furniture Society with support from a generous grant from Powermatic. Participants are expected to attend ICFF and to actively promote their work. Powermatic will provide marketing assistance before and during the show to help participants improve their marketing abilities.
Powermatic is also presenting two People's Choice Awards - one for a student maker and one for a professional maker. Each winner will receive a Powermatic PM1500 bandsaw.
We are extremely grateful to GLM and ICFF for providing booth space for this exhibition, as well as offering all our members a $5 / sq ft discount, should they desire their own booth.
