Craft-Facturing: Objects and Their Stories

This exhibition will lean heavily on the accompanying text for each object, we want to know both how and why you do what you do to make your business happen.

All media and all types of functional objects will be considered. We acknowledge that Makers do what they can to create a sustainable living, this exhibition is at least in part hoping to shed light on the variety and creativity involved in that process and will not be limited to furniture alone.

The future of the small shop depends upon making things that consumers will support, let's see how you do it!

SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS:

1) Furniture Society membership is NOT required to apply, though it will give you a discount. To become a member, visit http://furnsoc.org/memberships/

2) If this is your first time using the EntryThingy interface, you will be asked to fill out an artist statement and resume. Please use this space to share your personal craft-facturing story. If you already have an account, click on 'My Profile' at the top of this page and update your artist statement and resume. Both of these sections will be reviewed by the jury.

3) Next, you will be prompted to give a title, description, and a 'statement specific to your entry.' Use these fields to give the title of the piece that you are entering, and a description of how the piece fits into our show's theme of Craft-Facturing.

4) On the next page, please submit up to 4 images of your entry, as well as descriptive information of the piece.

5) After you submit your entry, please remember to pay your application fee at http://furnsoc.org/shop/craft-facturing-objects-and-their-stories-application-fee/
