3rd Annual Juried FPG Print Exhibition

Eligibility & Fee:
This call is open to artists internationally who are eighteen years of age or older. The work must have been made using any traditional printmaking techniques, including screen-printing, lithography, etching, collagraph, monotype, electro-etching, woodcut, photopolymer, etc. We also encourage artists to use non-toxic techniques. No drawings, photographs, or direct reproductions are eligible. In addition, digital prints are not accepted.

Entry Fees: $25 for up to 3 images maximum. (All Entry Fees are Non-refundable)

Submission Guidelines:
Number of Entries = you are allowed 3 separate entries. (Please do not include multiple pics of the same work unless you feel they are needed for jurying one particular work).

Images: All images should accurately reflect the work submitted and be in JPEG format, with maximum dimensions of 2000 pixels in either direction (width or height).

File names should include your name and the title of the artwork in the following format:

Each entry should include: title, medium, size (height x width x depth), and date created.

Jurors: (3)
Sarah Marshall - She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Carnegie Mellon University in 1992 and, in 1999, her Master of Fine Arts degree from the University of Iowa. Influenced by interests such as language, reading and book objects, architecture, and biological science.
Sarah focuses on the processes of printmaking and drawing. Her works on paper show organic forms that become portraits and characters; repeated in various environments, these characters
examine our ideas about decision-making and the ways we treat each other. Sarah currently works as an Associate Professor of Art at The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, where she has lived for the past twenty years. Her work has appeared in group and solo exhibits across the United States and abroad.

Matthew Rangel - Matthew Rangel received an MFA in printmaking from the University of Alberta and a BFA in Drawing/Painting and Printmaking from California State University Long Beach. His work has been featured in numerous shows nationally, internationally, and are included in collections such as the Stonehouse Residency for the Contemporary Arts, the White House in Washington DC, the Urban Land Institute in Washington DC, and at Mount Tai National Park in China. Among notable publications that feature his work are Journeys beyond the Neatline: Expanding the boundaries of cartography, a monograph published by University of Alberta Libraries, Elephant Magazine, Print Magazine, and in an international graphic arts anthology titled A Map of the World: According to Illustrators and Storytellers, published by Gastalten, Berlin, and editorials in Adventure Journal, GEO Magazine and Walden Magazine (Hamburg Germany). Rangel?s works are also prominently displayed in the El Capitan Hotel, The Darling Hotel and The Nomad Los Angeles.
Matthew Rangel served his community through volunteer and leadership roles while teaching at the College of the Sequoias, in California. This included coordinating and participating in a series of community events of which he was a founding member called The Kaweah Land & Arts Festival where scholars, artists, nature enthusiasts and local non-profit groups collaborated on public events throughout the surrounding landscape. In addition, he served as a mentor for the College of the Sequoias Puente (Bridge) Project and he has served as a board member for the Sequoia Natural History Association, Arts Visalia, and as an advisor for the Sequoia Parks Foundation.

Matthew Rangel was formerly an Assistant Professor of Printmaking at the University of New Mexico (2013-2018). He is currently a Professor of Art - Drawing/Painting and Lithography at the College of the Sequoias in Visalia, California.

Jessica Robles - Born and raised in Visalia, California, Jessica Robles studied fine art at the College of the Sequoias. She then went on to receive her BFA from the Kansas City Art Institute and her MFA from Northern Illinois University, both with an emphasis in printmaking. She is now an adjunct art instructor at the College of the Sequoias and teaches printmaking at California State University Fresno.

Jessica?s work is a compilation of thoughts, ideas, memories and meaningful objects that she holds on to and brings to life in her prints and drawings. The work often hints at a sense of wit, sensitivity and sometimes an overbearing sadness which in the end creates a beautifully haunting image.
