The Firehouse Art Center is creating a juried exhibition around the power of water and is interested in learning about artwork being made that deals with water as a force of change, growth and/or destruction. EXHIBITION INFORMATION
February 5-March 2, 2014
Opening Reception Feb 14 [6-9 pm]
Water, essential to sustaining life and yet it holds the power to shift mountains and eradicate cities. Melting ice caps and rising sea levels threaten the future of many areas around the globe while extremes in weather patterns leave some of our planet in drought as other areas suffer flooding. With issues as disparate as providing clean drinking water around the world to the search for water and life on other planets, water is a central part of our future.
The Firehouse Art Center will also host an additional exhibition in September of 2015 expanding on the topic and focusing in on the stories and memories from the recent flooding in our state.
