Her Voice is an annual exhibition of works on paper by women-identified artists. The event brings women from different art backgrounds together to exhibit in our shared gallery space.
This year, the exhibition's theme is 'The Air We Breathe.' After a troubling summer of forest fires and smoky skies, we'd like to see what artists have to say about our air. How do you respond to the changes we've been seeing? What does clean air mean to you? How do you envision the future with regard to the state of our shared atmosphere? What do you see as women's role in mitigating the climate crisis? Use these questions as a jumping off point.
Entry deadline: September 22, 2023
Notification of acceptance: September 25
Exhibition dates: October 14-November 18
Reception: November 18
Who is eligible: All artists who identify as female.
Eligible work must be unframed work on paper. We will consider painting, drawing, printmaking, collage, and other 2-D works as long as they are within the size guideline and are works on paper.
IMPORTANT: We will only accept hand-delivered work. Drop-off dates are October 6-11, but we can make other arrangements as necessary. We will not ship or receive shipped work.
Expressions Studio is a volunteer-run, membership-based non-profit printmaking cooperative and fine arts gallery in Oak Park, IL.
