Reminiscence -
Memories remind us of the roads we have traveled and the people who have crossed our paths.
We invite artists to explore this theme in its many forms, and submit works of art based on their personal and unique associations with the concept of reminiscence.
Artworks that are shaped by personal memory are as unique and diverse as the personal experiences that they are drawn from ? anything is possible, from representations of the past to abstract expressions.
We welcome all 2D and 3D media, including painting, drawing, photography, mixed media, sculpture, textile, ceramics, assemblage and fiber arts. Artists at all stages of their careers are welcome to apply. We're excited to see your work.
Creative possibilities may include (but are not limited to):
-Representing personal or familial memory
-Exploring archival, found, or re-contextualized materials
-Engaging with sensory triggers (scent, texture, light, sound) as metaphors for memory
-Investigating how collective memory functions in communities or cultural histories
