Flying Objects

Birds, planes, superheroes and time are just the beginning of all things that fly.

'Flying Objects' is open to all media with the theme of flight or flying.

Whether it is the object itself flying or a bird's eye view of the subject as seen from flight, we are looking for pieces that somehow involve 'flying' and encourage artists to take a wide interpretation of this theme.

Both, 2d and 3d works will be considered.
2d works works must be ready to hang (no sawtooth hangers) and be 30' or less on their longest side. 3d works must be under 72' tall and weigh 50lbs or less.

All art works must be for sale.

Awards will be given for 1st ($100), 2nd ($50), 3rd ($25) place, as well as a 'People's choice award' ($25)

About our guest juror:
Colleen Gianatiempo is an accomplished fine artist known for her stunning abstract compositions in mixed media characterized by bold colors, intricate textures, and layered patterns. Her artwork has been featured in numerous solo and group exhibitions, earning her a place in multiple public and private collections, such as Hearts of San Francisco. With a Master of Fine Art (MFA) in Painting from the Academy of Art University and a Certificate of Graphic Design from Otis Parsons School of Design, Colleen brings a diverse range of creative skills to her practice. As the owner of Gianatiempo Fine Art and a represented artist at Sunset Gallery in St. George, UT, she successfully sells and markets her work around the world. Colleen?s passion for sharing her expertise extends through teaching in-person and virtual workshops in the United States and abroad, and locally as a Professor of Art at Utah Tech University. She actively contributes to the art community as the programs chair of the Southern Utah Art Guild and is a member of Women Out West (WOW), a professional artists group. She is also an active member of the Global Art Project (GAP), engaging in collaborative projects with artists internationally. Colleen recently attended an artist residency in Lecce, Italy, further enriching her artistic journey. Colleen lives and works in St. George, UT.
