United Projects Open Call for Artists and Speakers 4.2014

Location Brooklyn, NY 11221 Entry Fee Paid Entry Deadline April 30, 2014 Exhibition May 31 - May 31, 2014
+ United Projects exist as a means to stimulate and facilitate an open forum for discussion. The projects developed in this space are in flux, creating more questions then answers, inspiring new ideas that can be discussed and considered. As a community, we will displace the value in art from work as a polished product to work as an evolving idea. +

> This is an open call for artists and thinkers to participate in a bi-monthly series of events revolving around the propagation of open discussion <

Artists:

Artists selected will have one month to develop a proposed project to be shown in a day long event of exhibition and the exchange of ideas. During this month, artists will be expected to participate in weekly critiques of their work in progress. United Projects will provide 24/7 access to studio space, storage, tools and help.

Thinkers and Speakers:

The exchange of information and ideas is intrinsic to United Projects. This day long event will include the presentation and oration of topics relevant to contemporary art practices. We would like to invite those interested in discussing and facilitating a conversation on a specific idea or topic to apply. The application process consists of presenting and discussing your discussion topic with the current members of United Projects. If selected we will meet with you bi-weekly to discuss, critique and workshop your presentation. The final talk will be given during a day long event that runs concurrent to the exhibition of visual work created by the other participants. We see this as an opportunity for us to engage in new and interesting dialogues and for those ideas to be presented to a wider audience.

*Those applying to show work may also apply to speak.
