Water 7/26/2018 - 8/25/2018 Opening 7/26/2018

The dynamic and beautiful element water runs around the earth in various forms nourishing, healing, cleansing, and purifying. Water the receiver is fluidic, soaking and dissolving. Its cycle of rainfall creates rivers, lakes and oceans. Water cycles to form clouds and repeats the process again and again. Water is the only natural substance that exists in three forms: liquid, solid and gas. Water can be thought of as having movement, moods and lifegiving properties. Water can take the liquid form as in bodies of water, flowing and falling. Solid water takes the form of ice, snow or glaciers. Water vapor (gas) is in transition to liquid in the form of clouds, mist or steam.

The Denmark Art Center is very excited about plans for three art exhibitions in their gallery this season. Earth, Water, Fire and Air. Let us focus our creative civic and natural imaginations on the four basic elements to create many marvelous and varied visual interpretations about these subjects. By bringing awareness, through 2D artistic expression, on the many visual forms these themes can take. We hope to move our collective imaginations towards a sustainable planet for us all to cherish and explore. All life interacts with the environment on earth. When in balance, harmony and continuity of life is possible.
