TERMS & CONDITIONS:
1. Registration for the For Art Sake Art Prize (FASAP} 2019 will be online from 18th June 2018 until midnight 22nd January 2019 AEST.
2. The 2019 For Art Sake Art Prize is non-acquisitive.
3. Artworks entered must meet the criteria to be eligible for judging. The organising committee reserve the right to deny works that do not meet the criteria at any time. If works are selected for exhibition but upon receipt do not meet the criteria they may be ineligible for judging.
4. All works must be for sale.
5. Only artists residing in South Australia are eligible for entry into the For Art Sake Art Prize.
6. The art prize is open to both professional photographers, amateurs and enthusiasts.
7. All entries must be original artworks completed solely by the entrant. (See Entry Criteria for further details.)
8. Artists may enter up to three artworks each.
9. A single entry is $25 total; if submitting a second entry it is an additional $20, making a total of $45; if submitting a third entry it is $25 + $20 + $15 for the third entry, making a total of $60AUD.
10. Only digital mediums are applicable, including; photography, digital media, digital collage and graphic design artworks or high quality photographic reproductions of paintings & drawings.
11. The maximum image file size to be uploaded is 5 MB and the required resolution is 300 dpi. Images must be in .jpg format. Size your images so that they are 2000 pixels on the longest side. The shortest side will be automatically adjusted by your image editing software. The minimum image dimension allowed is 800 pixels. The online system will not check for correct color, sizing or orientation. It will only reject your image file if it too small or too large.
12. Artworks being included in the finalist exhibition, will adhere to the set measurements of 50cm x 50cm (including mounting). The size limit refers to the length of any one side and does not refer to area or average.
13. By entering the For Art Sake Art Prize, the entrant accepts that if they are selected as a finalist, Atkins Technicolour will be printing and mounting the artworks at the set specification for exhibition.
14. As an official sponsor of the For Art Sake Art Prize, Atkins have agreed to provide high quality digital prints, mounted on DIBond with a hanger attached at their expense, ready for exhibition.
15. All works submitted online to the For Art Sake Art Prize must include the artist name and title of the work, for sale price and how many editions available (In description).
16. All artworks entered must have been created between 1st January 2017 - 22nd January, 2019.
17. Artworks entered must be available for exhibition for the duration of the For Art Sake Art Prize 13th February - 13th March, 2019.
18. Artists selected for the finalist exhibition will be notified on the 25th January 2019.
19. Selected finalists must then supply high-resolution digital files to (Danae Thyssen) For Art Sake Art Prize by 27th January, 5pm to be included in the exhibition. (

20. Failure to deliver high quality digital files by the due date may result in the artist being disqualified. All digital files will then be forwarded to Atkins Technicolour for printing and mounting.
21. Unsold artworks are to be collected by the artist in Norwood from Danae Thyssen of the For Art Sake Art Prize on Monday 18th March, 2019 between 1pm - 7pm. (Details to be advised)
22. All costs associated with collection and transport of the artwork is the responsibility of the artist.
23. Responsibility, including taking out any insurance, for damage, loss or theft to the artwork remains with the artist.
24. All entrants consent to their work being reproduced without fee by the For Art Sake Art Prize, for the purpose of critical review, advertising and publicity, promotional materials for the For Art Sake Art Prize 2019 and future events, and creating non-commercial archive and non-lending reference or database.
25. The otherwise use of images submitted is entirely at the discretion of the For Art Sake Art Prize.
26. Only digital submissions will be accepted for judging. Photocopies and photographs submitted will not be accepted for judging. High quality reproductions of paintings & drawings must also be submitted in digital form.
27. For Art Sake Art Prize reserves the right to exhibit selected finalists work only.
28. All finalist artworks must be available for sale.
SALES & COMMISSION:
1. Artists to provide total retail price. The For Art Sake Art Prize will withhold 30% commission, of which 10% will be donated to a chosen charity (Treasure Boxes) of the For Art Sake Art Prize.
2. If the artist is registered for GST the retail price must be GST inclusive.
3. The 'for sale price' cannot be altered after submission.
4. The artist agrees and appoints For Art Sake Art Prize as the sole agent of all artwork entered for the duration of the For Art Sake Art Prize 2019 unless otherwise arranged with their represented gallery.
4. FASAP can split their commission of 20% if the artist is represented by an Adelaide based gallery.
IMPORTANT DATES:
1. Deadline for submissions is midnight on the 22nd January 2019.
2. Selected finalists to be notified via email on 25th January 2019.
3. Artists selected for the finalist exhibition will be notified on the 25th January 2019.
4. Finalists must then supply high-resolution digital files to (Danae Thyssen) For Art Sake Art Prize by 27th January 2019, 5pm to be included in the exhibition. (

5. Peoples Choice Voting will be from 27th January to 10th February 2019.
6. Selected works will be sponsored by Atkins Technicolour who have agreed to provide high quality digital prints, mounted on DIBond with a hanger attached at their expense, ready for exhibition. Production will take place between the 28th January and 11th February 2019.
7. Art Prize Exhibition dates 13th February to the 13th March 2019 at Atkins Technicolour, as part of the Adelaide Fringe Festival.
8. Announcement of Prize Major Winner and Peoples Choice Award will be on Wednesday 13th February, at the Opening Night Fringe Event 6pm & 8pm.
9. Collection of unsold artworks by the artist are on Monday 18th March 2019 between 1pm - 7pm from Danae Thyssen of the For Art Sake Art Prize, Norwood (Details to be advised).
FEES:
1. - Entry is $25 for 1 entry (incl GST)
- Entry is $25 + $20 for 2 entries
- Entry is $25 + $20 + $15 for 3 entries
2. Entry fees are non - refundable
3. Entry fees to be paid by credit card, paypal or alternative as negotiated - to be outlined at registration.
4. Entry fee includes pre-selection judging; inclusion in the exhibition if selected; plus high quality digital prints, mounted on DIBond with a hanger attached provided by Atkins at their expense; administration and handling.
DISCLAIMER:
1. For Art Sake Art Prize is not bound to accept any entry and may, in its discretion, refuse an entry into the For Art Sake Art Prize.
2. For Art Sake Art Prize may, in its discretion, alter the Terms and Conditions of entry at any time.
INSURANCE:
Artists are responsible for maintaining, at their own cost, all insurances necessary to cover the artwork(s) for damages, theft or loss during transport and delivery (to and from the event) and for the time the artwork is on exhibition and in the custody of the For Art Sake Art Prize.
DAMAGES:
For Art Sake Art Prize does not take responsibility for any damage, theft or loss of the artwork, including during transport and delivery (to and from the event) or for the time the artwork is on exhibition or in its custody.
INDEMNITY:
To the extent permitted by law, the artist indemnifies and remains indemnified the For Art Sake Art Prize and For Art Sake Creative Consulting and their successors, officers, employees, contractors and agents from any action, claim, liability, cost, expense and damage suffered or incurred by the For Art Sake Art Prize arising out of or in connection with an act or omission of the artist.
OWNERSHIP OF PHOTOGRAPHY:
1. Entrants will retain copyright of their photographic entry.
2, By submitting an entry to the competition, entrants give permission to Treasure Boxes to reasonably use photographs in organisational material (this may be in print or online) with the owner's name included.
3. Treasure Boxes will not enter into a commercial agreement for use of the photograph or pay a usage fee to the photographer. Revenue raised by sale of the Treasure Boxes 2020 calendar will be retained by Treasure Boxes.
