MASK
MASK ... masked, unmask, masking ...
covering, uncovering, revealing, mardis gras, costume ball, trick or treat, criminals, disguise, ancient mask, tribal mask?
So, let's have some fun with this? OR NOT?
After the politicization of masks for health or the conspiracy theories of control and harm ? let's look at the wild variety of masking and mask making both literally and symbolically or metaphorically.
How do we mask our real feelings?
How do we mask the truth either to protect someone or deceive someone?
Can we just be silly and playful, or is there a dark ominous intent in a mask?
Is the mask an ornament or does the mask signify a reality not so easily seen on the surface.
CWCA is celebrating the Starline 4th Friday October Finale Art Event. CWCA is looking for artworks that explore MASKS as the artist interprets them.
Please send up to 3 images per $35. Each participant will be guaranteed to have 1 piece in the exhibit.
Must be a member of the CWCA. For information about membership go to https://nationalwca.org/wca-membership/
Installation work may be accepted but instructions must be included in entry.
Open to Chicago Women's Caucus for Art members (to renew membership or to join, go to www.nationalwca.org and click on membership).
