EAFA Members Winter Show by MIVAL

Show Dates: January 8- March 3, 2023
We proudly & gratefully accept the invitation — to CURRENT EAFA members — from
MIVAL: Mercer Island Visual Arts League (mival.org) at the Mercer Island
Community and Event Center. They have requested EAFA to be their guest for a two month long Winter show.

All entries must be submitted online via Entry Thingy. Additional information can
be found on the show's prospectus page when applying.

Monday, December 5: DEADLINE FOR ENTRY
Tuesday, December 20: Jury notifications
Saturday, January 7: Delivery of accepted entries, 10 - 11 am
Sunday, January 8: Opening Day
Thursday, January 12: Artist Reception by MIVAL, 6pm - 8pm
Friday, March 3: Closing Day
Saturday, March 4: Pickup of unsold work by artists & sold work by client, 10 - 11 am

All award jurying is done by the juror in person after the show is hung.

ENTRY FEES
$35- for the first piece, $5- per each additional pieces — Limit 3 pieces per artist.
Entry fees will be paid online through Entry Thingy at time of registration.
All Entry fees are non-refundable.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
Any form of family friendly art by EAFA members

2-D art can be acceptable.
As well as 3-D, Digital Art, Photography and Jewelry.

All entries must be original work produced by the entrant. NO Giclee pieces accepted.
All pieces MUST be marked for sale — with a minimum price of $200 per piece.
(NOTE: if you do not really want to sell, just put your price very high.)
There will be 25% commission per sale.


Primarily:
SIZE REQUIREMENTS
Any 2-D images must be — at least — 12 square inches.
The outside measurements of the frame (or unframed BUT finished) piece shall not exceed 3'
x 5', or 16' in perimeter (total linear measurement around the outside of the frame.)


3-D work can be wall hanging relief work or free-standing or mounted on a base. Smaller
sculptures will be placed in showcases. They should be smaller than 12'x 12'x 12' Medium sized
pieces can be displayed on a few freestanding bases 20'x 20'
Jewelry is acceptable - properly mounted on a display stand.
LARGE sculptures must be floor standing (or mounted by artist.) The display should be larger than
3'x 3' x 4' - and very stable. Max size 4'x 15'x 10'

FRAMING REQUIREMENT
All 2-D entries must be framed or finished appropriately and properly wired with D rings, less than 1/4 from the top.

NO SECTIONAL FRAMES OR INAPPROPRIATELY UNFRAMED WORK WILL BE ACCEPTED.


All accepted work must have a label with the following information discretely attached:

Medium
Price

If one entry has several parts/pieces they must be labeled in order:
Title #1, Title #2, Title #3 & given arrangement of display.

Deliveries will only be accepted 10-11am, on Saturday the 7th of January.

MIVAL takes every precaution to prevent loss or damage to the art & WILL
INSURE the entries in the show.
All artists who enter the show agree to hold EAFA harmless for any loss or
damage. MIVAL & EAFA reserve the right to refuse any entry that does not meet
their requirements.

PHOTO IMAGE GUIDELINES FOR ONLINE
ENTRIES
When photographing or scanning your own work:
Images should be cropped - NO background clutter, frame, glare or reflection.

Images must not skew the proportions of the art.
Ensure that the artwork is in focus and properly lit.
Any images of accepted entries may be used by EAFA to promote the show via
publication and online.
NOTE: ensure that all images are at 72 pixels-per-inch and have a minimum of 1920
pixels on the long side; websites such as Image Resizer can be used to adjust or resize
images before submitting any entries.
