How many images can I submit?

You can submit between 1 and 7 images.

What file types are accepted?

Accepted file types: 10000000000000000000. Maximum file size: 5 MB per image.

When is the exhibition?

The exhibition opens on March 23, 2021 and runs until May 01, 2021.

SUBMISSION DEADLINE: Wednesday, Feb 24, 2021

* You may enter up to 7 artwork entries.

* Your artwork photos do not have to be professionally taken photos. But they need to be of adequate quality to provide a good representation of the artwork, so the jury can make their selections and accepted work can be posted to your artist page on the Valley Art Gallery website

* You can use a smart phone, iPad or tablet. Be sure that the art is well lit, there is no surface reflection and that it is focused. Ideally we would like JPG images that are a minimum of 1200 pixels wide. The maximum up-loadable file size is 5 megabytes.

* Oils and acrylics are best shot frameless. Works under glass are easier to photograph before framing, if possible. For questions on photographing your work, please email the website coordinator at [email protected]

* Please be sure to include titles, outside dimensions (including frame), media and price.

* The description field is optional. You may use it to write a statement about the inspiration or story behind the piece. Should the piece be selected for the collection, this information will help in our marketing and social media efforts.

* If, over the last couple of months, you have emailed us images for your gallery website artist page and you want them to be considered for this gallery collection, please include them in your EntryThingy submission.

* Please do not click the SUBMIT button until you have uploaded ALL of your images and filled in all the artwork information. EntryThingy will save your submission until you are ready to SUBMIT it.

JURY RESULTS AND ART DROP OFF

- In anticipation that you will be submitting new work, you will receive a call from one of our staffers to set up your curbside drop off appointment. The staffer will be calling you from their home, as the gallery is currently open by appointment only. The timing of the call will be before the jurors have made their selections and perhaps ahead of you making your EntryThingy submission.

- Appointments will be March 7 - 12.

- You will receive an email by March 4th letting you know which pieces to bring to the gallery for your appointment.

- At your appointment, you will drop off the selected artwork and pickup pieces from the current inventory that the jury has decided to return to you.

- Please be sure that your name and the title are on the back of each piece. There will be no forms for you to fill out and bring.

PLEASE NOTE: No glass except for pastels. All works must be dry and ready to hang (no sawtooth hangers) and please tape the ends of the wires so hands will not be injured by sharp wires.
