Stories of How We Got Here
Standing on the Shoulders of the Ones Before Us will showcase ceramic and multi media art that speaks to the history and legacy of striving for freedom, demonstrations, resistance, solidarity, celebrations, and injustice. A visual exploration of past, present, and future chapters on our paths to freedom.
Standing on the Shoulders of the Ones Before Us is a gallery exhibition featuring a visual exploration of past, present, and future chapters on our paths to freedom. Artists are invited to submit original artwork depicting people, events, artifacts, histories, hopes, or consequences. From realistic portrayals to imaginative interpretations, this exhibition welcomes diverse artistic perspectives that capture the beauty, tragedy, camaraderie, endurance, perseverance, character, power, and significance of this process.
We encourage submissions in all visual art mediums, including painting, drawing, photography, sculpture, mixed media, digital art, and more. Artwork should reflect the exhibition theme while demonstrating craftsmanship, design, and artistic vision.
All mediums welcome. Open internationally. Original works only.
Eligibility: Open to all artists. AI Art and Sadistic Art are not accepted.This exhibition will be on view during October, 2026, concurrent with the Taste of Freedom Celebration in Fresno. Personal and historical perspectives are encouraged. Cash prizes for each category. Jurors: William Raines and Piet Ogata.
