The Legacy Show: WCAG Celebrates 50 Years

Submission Information:
For this 50th Anniversary Show we are hoping to exhibit about 100 pieces of artwork which must fall into one of three categories. Artists will designate which category their piece(s) fall into when they submit them on the “Entry Thingy” platform.
1. 2-dimensional abstract - will be judged by Cristina White-Jones - She is a contemporary abstract
expressionist and mixed-media artist based in the Austin area. She holds a BFA in painting, her highly
textured works feature bold colors inspired by nature and emotional movement.
2. 2-dimensional representational - will be judged by Nick Ramos - He is a Brazilian-born, Austin-based artist,
illustrator and creative director who operates the design agency Graphiso. He works across illustration,
graphic design and community-focused public art.
3. Photography - will be judged by Bill Ledbetter - He is a wedding, family and portrait photographer based in
Leander, TX. He operates his business, Imageclectic Photography Bringing a strong creative background
to his portraiture. His website also features nature and cityscapes.

All pertinent information and high quality .jpgs will be submitted online using the “Entry Thingy” Platform.

There will be a submission fee of $35 for 1-3 pieces of art (limit 3 per pieces per artist).

Please be sure to fill in all requested information and upload high quality .jpgs - following the Entry Thingy
platforms requirements regarding the image size of your files.

Naming your .jpg file for blind judging: Do not include your first or last name in the file name. Name your
.jpg file like this: title-of-work_date created.jpg. (if you know the date) example: spring-rain_1989.jpg.

If you are less tech-savvy, please engage a friend to assist you with your electronic submission or contact a
Board Member for assistance – we want your best work included in the show!

Criteria:
To ensure that all of the art in our 2025 WCAG Legacy Show is suitable for the exhibit, the exhibit will be juried.
The juror artists are non-WCAG members and there will be one judge per category.

Jurors will be selecting for inclusion in this exhibit, WCAG Members 2-dimensional art and photography with
compositions that:
Are assumed to be among the artists “personal best”.
Are presented professionally.
Receive the highest scores on the jury’s list of criteria as set up in the “Entry Thingy” platform. The list of
criteria will include fundamental art and design principles.
Adhere to the instructions and guidelines for this exhibit.

Art size restrictions including frame:
Minimum Size: 8” x 8”
Maximum Size: 40”h x 36”w
Weight Limit: Up to 25 lbs

All art must be family friendly. (No violence, no advertising, no politics, good for all ages)

Original works of art and high quality giclee prints are acceptable for this exhibit. However, giclee prints will
not be able to compete for a prize and will be hung separately from the original works of art. We are allowing
giclee's in the case that an 'artist's favorite or personal best' original artwork has sold.

For this exhibit we are welcoming artwork that may have hung in these spaces for prior exhibits since we are
spanning up to 50 years of art.

All art must be the artists own creation.
No AI/CGI generated artwork/photography will be accepted. It is the artists responsibility to read the “Rules
regarding AI/CGI” located on the ‘Exhibits’ page of the WCAG’s Website.

All canvas artwork less than 1” deep requires a frame.

Canvas artwork 1” - 1.5” deep requirements - May be unframed but must not have exposed staples. Edges
must be clean or painted so they are professional in appearance.

Photography on canvas less than 1” deep requires a frame.

Photography on canvas must be gallery wrapped or have a solid colored edge, no exposed staples and
should be at least 1” deep.

All finished artwork and photography must have 2 D-rings secured to either side of the frame.

Only wire suitable for picture hanging should be used. If wire ends are sharp, please cover with painter or
artist tape.

Frames, matting and finished pieces of art must be in good condition, clean, contain no damage and look
professional in appearance.

It is the artists responsibility to read the “General Artwork Requirements for the WCAG Galleries and Exhibit
Spaces” located on the ‘Exhibits’ page of the WCAG’s Website.

Title card including: Title, medium, price, artist’s name and contact information must be attached to back of all art work.

Some examples of why submitted artwork may not be selected could include:
- Not family friendly
- Does not comply with guidelines
- Submission came after the submission deadline date
- Other artwork scored higher by the judges

If your artwork does not comply with these guidelines we have the right to turn it down at time of drop off.

Cash awards/prizes for three categories:
2-Dimensional Representational
2-Dimensional Abstract (or non-representational)
Photography

Best in Show: $500.00
1st place: $300.00
2nd place: $200.00
3rd place: $100.00
Honorable Mention: 2 artists per art category to display 2 pieces of art for 1 month at Rock St. Gallery.
For open call exhibit time frame as determined by Gallery Chair.
