National Crime Victims' Rights Week Art Exhibit (NCVRW): Listen. Act. Advocate.

Organization: Williamson County Art Guild Location Georgetown, TX Entry Fee Free Entry Deadline March 30, 2026
The Williamson County Attorney's Office invites you to participate in their 4th annual art exhibit honoring crime victims' rights week. This is a week to bring awareness to victims of crime. The 2026 theme - Listen. Act. Advocate. Protect victims, serve communities - reminds us that every survivor deserves to feel heard, believed, and supported. By standing together, we can protect victims, strengthen our communities, and ensure that voices too often overlooked are lifted up and respected. This is a juried exhibit of up to 30 pieces of 2-dimensional art which depicts this year's National Crime Victims' Rights Week theme.

Why art, you may wonder? In December 2021, the Williamson County Attorney's Office became aware of a crime involving a 15 year-old female victim. Very sadly, this young girl did end up succumbing to her injuries weeks later. Among many other things, the victim loved to draw and use her imagination to create art. Her art was a way for her to express herself with vibrant colors to a canvas.

Because of this, the Williamson County Attorney's Office decided that an art exhibit to go along with the annual ceremony is the perfect way to honor those whose lives have been lost as well as those who are survivors of violent crime. This gives artists the opportunity to connect with others through their art and provide a sense of hope, power, resilience, and support. This is the second year the County Attorney's Office has partnered with the Williamson County Art Guild.

Artwork depicting the primary theme or any of these concepts listed above are acceptable for submission.
