Featured Artist Wall – Joanne Grimm
After reading the contract, check your dates, affirm the agreed-upon wall location, and make note of all contract paragraphs. Submitting your entry constitutes agreement with the points in this online contract. Harbor Village Gallery & Gifts is often referred to as “G2” in this contract.
EXHIBIT DATES AND INFORMATION.
□ ARTIST agrees to exhibit their work on the hanging grid of the Featured Artist wall and may use the surface of the cabinet below the grid, for the dates: March 1, 2026 thru March 31, 2026
ARTIST agrees to pay $150 for use of the above wall/display space and understands work cannot be exhibited in any other space in the gallery (i.e. Card racks, bin work, additional signage) Payment must be received prior to installing the exhibit and membership in BAA must be current.
ARTIST will be responsible for installing and taking down their exhibits within the strict time frames outlined below.
ARTIST agrees to upload all artwork information, i.e. images, titles and prices, etc., into EntryThingy at least one week before the show date so that labels can be generated in time for installation. Sharon will open an Entrythingy portal for your show. Labels will be printed and delivered to the G2 gallery a few days before the show is to begin, to be installed by artist when the display is put up. The artist’s work will be loaded into the Square sales register using the Entrythingy list so that the work can be processed if sold. Entrythingy images and information are also used for an online gallery where your work can be sold through our website.
ARTIST agrees to send Exec. Dir. a short description or the title of the display and information about the artist that can be used by BAA for our website, social media release, Facebook, Instagram etc. E.D. must receive this at least 7 days before the exhibit is installed.
The Harbor Gallery and Gifts store is a retail shop which is required to be open for business from 11:00-6:00 every day except Christmas. Installation and removal of work should take place only during closed hours before 11:00 a.m. or after 6:00 p.m.
ARTIST must coordinate with the artist who is taking down their work from the previous show and with the artist who will be installing their work for the following show, so that that they are not in each other’s way, and during the time of day before 11 am and after 6 p.m. or unless otherwise arranged. Artist must also coordinate with E.D. or a designated G2 member with regard to when they are installing or removing work.
ARTIST must install and remove their exhibit, with or without assistance which they provide (do not expect or ask for help from G2 resident artists) remove nails, patch and “spot” paint (Clock wall) walls as necessary. Supplies for this will be provided by BAA.
All work must be for sale. All work must be suitable for viewing by the general public including children. Nude or sexually suggestive work may not be part of the exhibit.
ARTIST will receive 70% commission for any work sold in this exhibit. Commission checks are issued by the 15th of the following month.
It is suggested that ARTISTS insure their own work. Buenaventura Art Association does not carry insurance for ARTISTS’ work.
OPTIONAL: ARTIST can schedule a mini-reception for their own guests and/or the public at their own expense and under the following conditions:
• If requested during regular gallery hours, they need to confirm and coordinate with that day’s scheduled Host(s).
• ARTIST will set up any food/drink table keeping in mind that there is no food prep area, no access to water in the gallery, and 100% of existing surfaces are used to display art or are in resident artist spaces where placing food and drink by ARTIST or attendees will not be permitted. Refreshments must be limited to small bottled water and individually wrapped single serve snacks to avoid spills and stains on displays.
• If wine service is desired, ARTIST may serve only white wine (to avoid stains) in disposable cups and must recruit an extra volunteer to be stationed at the door who will ensure that no one leaves the gallery carrying their wine cup.
• If the artist wishes to schedule a mini reception after hours, this must be negotiated with either Sharon or one of the volunteer resident artists to agree to host, handle any sales, and supervise ARTIST’s clean-up and close up so all is in order for the next morning’s business.
Signs with ARTIST’S name or show title are at ARTIST's discretion and expense. This would have to fit within the contracted space, as the Harbor has strict rules on what can be placed outside the gallery. Exterior signs and signs taped to the front window of the gallery are not allowed.
Submission of your entry constitutes agreement with all points above.
