RAC Masters Juried Members Only Exhibition 2024

PLEASE NOTE: THIS SHOW IS ONLY OPEN TO CURRENT RAC EXHIBITING MEMBERS. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU ARE NOT A CURRENT EXHIBITING MEMBER. IF YOU HAVE PREVIOUSLY BEEN ACCEPTED TO RAC MASTERS, YOU ARE INELIGIBLE TO REAPPLY FOR THREE YEARS.

RAC MASTERS is a juried, small group show open to exhibiting members only. Applicants must submit a body of work (3-15 pieces) along with a statement specific to the work. No matter the number of pieces submitted, all work must fit an approximate 8 foot wide by 6 foot high wall space. Your entire body of work, NOT specific pieces, will either be accepted or not accepted. Presentation of your work will also be a factor that will influence acceptance to the show.

RAC Members: $65 for entry; Art Angels (Life Members- enter as Art Angel): $2 for entry; If you are accepted, there will be an additional $30 fee per artist to cover promotion and reception costs.

Submission Requirements:

Photos must be uploaded in .jpg format. The maximum file size is 5 mb. The minimum file size is 1000 kb (1mb) and the minimum image width is 2000 px.

Two and three dimensional work may exceed our usual limit of 40 inches in length or height, including frame, but YOUR ENTIRE BODY OF WORK MUST FIT WITHIN APPROXIMATELY AN 8 FT WIDE BY 6 FT HIGH SPACE. Each piece must be ready to hang with braided wire. No sawtooth hangers will be accepted.

For plexi-mounted art, secure picture hangers attached to the back frame structure are acceptable.

Canvases: canvases must have a minimum edge of 1.25 inches, must have clean edges and no visible staples. (Referred to as 'Museum Edge')

Work must be original, completed within last seven years and may have been exhibited at RAC before. No giclees, other than for photography.

No renderings or copies of other artist's work.

RAC Policies:

Photographs of artwork may be used for publicity for the exhibitions. Please take a photo of your work before it is under glass to ensure that the photo does justice to it. You retain all rights to your work.

Chairperson's discretion: the chairperson may refuse any entry on the grounds of poor condition, oversize or unsuitability.

Sales: 80% of your entries must be for sale. RAC will collect a commission of 30% on all sales.

Liability: Entries will be handled with all possible care, but artists submitting work agree to hold harmless the Rowayton Arts Center, their agents and employees from any claim of damage or theft that might arise from any cause whatsoever. Artists should arrange for proper insurance coverage for their work. Entry to the show constitutes agreement with all of the conditions stated above.

Waiver for Pictures Taken/Used: RAC documents each RAC exhibition with photographs. Entry into an exhibition at the Rowayton Arts Center constitutes permission to photograph you and/or your artwork, and to use an image of your artwork in promotional materials for the exhibition and for the Rowayton Arts Center.

ANY PIECE ACCEPTED INTO THIS SHOW IS SUBJECT TO A 30% SALES COMMISSION TO RAC. THIS RULE APPLIES EVEN IF THE PIECE SELLS VIA PRIVATE CONTACT, SOCIAL MEDIA OR VIA YOUR WEBSITE PRIOR TO DELIVERY TO THE RAC GALLERY.
