Turtle Bay's 8th West Coast Biennial Competition and Exhibition is open to artists currently living in California, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska.
This year's Juror is Dr. Robyn G. Peterson. She has been the Director of the Museum of Riverside since December 2017 where she is at work on institutional reinventions, guiding renovation and expansion of the downtown Riverside site, and rehabilitation of the National Historic Landmark Harada House. During the prior 35 years, she held administrative and curatorial positions at museums in California, Montana, and New York including seven years at Turtle Bay Exploration Park. She holds a Ph.D. in Art and Archaeology with specialization in Museology, an M.A. in Scandinavian Studies from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a B.A. in Design from UCLA. Since 1988, she has focused on fine art, interdisciplinary interpretation, and museum administration. Dr. Peterson is a committed advocate for the value of learning through ideas and objects human beings have created and the natural world they inhabit.
Cash prizes will be awarded. Best of Show is $3000.
