2024 Artists' Gallery Juried Show

The Artists' Gallery of Ellicott City invites visual artists (both 2D and 3D) to submit original work in any media for a juried show. Award winners will be displayed in our gallery for the month of July. All accepted artwork will be on display and available for online purchase on our website. Artists 18 or older living or working in Maryland or surrounding areas are eligible to apply.

Guidelines:
Original works may be in any medium. Work should be created within the past three years and work previously exhibited at Artists' Gallery of Ellicott City is ineligible. No copies, prints of originals or works derived from published photographs will be accepted. All submissions are to be made on-line at the Artists' Gallery's website:
www.artistsgalleryec.com.

A non-refundable fee of $30 for up to two pieces must be received by the submission deadline. All work must be for sale. The gallery takes a 40% commission on all sales.
Images of accepted works may be used at the sole discretion of Artists' Gallery for promotional material such as on-line invitations, website, press releases, etc.

By submitting your entries, you are agreeing to all of the terms and policies described in the 2024 Juried Show pages of our website.

All uploaded images must be in jpg or png format and be at least 1 MB in size. The longest side of the image must be at least 2000 pixels. Photos must be of good quality with no background showing. Please only show the image itself; no frame unless it is integral to the piece.

Any work to be shown in the Artists' Gallery must be delivered in person; no shipped art will be accepted. Three-dimensional work may not exceed 24 inches on its longest dimension; two-dimensional works may not exceed 25 inches on its longest dimension including the frame. Framed work must be ready for hanging, using wires and standard D-rings or eye hooks securely attached to the frame. Gallery wrapped work must have no visible staples and have finished, painted edges. No saw tooth hangers and no converted tabletop frames will be accepted. All mats, frames and glazing must be clean, free from defect and of professional quality. Every reasonable precaution will be taken, however, neither the Artists' Gallery nor its members shall be responsible for any loss or damage to submitted artwork, no matter how caused.

Jurors: Amanda Milliner and Karen Wallace

Karen Wallace and Amanda Milliner are nationally recognized, award-winning artists who have a combined 36 years of experience showing and selling their artwork. Karen specializes in 3-D kiln-formed glass and Amanda specializes in 2-D oil painting.

Working with warm glass since 2007, Karen creates kiln-formed glass vessels and wall pieces in brilliant colors and complex designs. Whether it's a modern-day take on the traditional murrine construction of 16th century Murano, Italy, or carefully engineered flowing and mingling, Karen enjoys creating special glass components and then designing her work around them.

Amanda holds a BFA from The Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) in Baltimore, Maryland. She is known for her use of vibrant colors and alla prima painting techniques. In her current work, the artist investigates light and dark balance with compositions rooted in notan design. Amanda teaches adult art classes at The Columbia Art Center and Howard County Center for the Arts in central Maryland. The artist competes and displays her artwork in regional plein air competitions, gallery shows, as well as in national exhibitions for the Oil Painters of America and the American Impressionist Society.

Reception and awards presentation: Sunday, June 30, 2024, 2-5 p.m.
Pick-up of exhibited work:
Sunday, July 21 (after 6 p.m.)
or Monday, July 22 (by appointment).

All prize winners and top tier artwork will be exhibited in Artists' Gallery, and all accepted work will be displayed online on the gallery website.
