Art Display Opportunity at the Community Arts Gallery, located inside First Merchants Bank

The mission of The Community Arts Gallery located inside First Merchants Bank is meant to offer Artists a space to exhibit their work. It is located on Woodward just south of 9 mile, which gets a high volume of drive by and foot traffic. The curator, Amanda Koss, can be contacted at (248) 709-2697 or [email protected]. The gallery space is open to the public Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm and observes national holidays.

This form serves as an agreement between both parties that:

The Community Arts Gallery, curator Amanda Koss and Artist/Organizer plan to exhibit artwork within the gallery of The Community Arts Gallery located inside First Merchants Bank building at 22635 Woodward Ave, Ferndale, MI 48220.

Dates:
All installs must take place and completed during the open business hours of First Merchants Bank.
Dates will be discussed upon acceptance.
GROUP SHOWS ONLY: If you cannot make this pickup, please arrange someone to pickup for you. Due to the nature of the space, artwork cannot be held past the arranged pickup date.

Required Print Media:
- Artist/organizer is required to supply own tags which resemble the following:


- As well as an 18”x24” poster about themselves and their exhibited body of work within The Community Arts Gallery.

Sales Processing:
a commission fee of 20% of total sales will be paid to Amanda Koss at the end of your exhibition upon picking up artwork. Exhibiting Artist is responsible for the shipping/arranging pickup with the buyer(s). Payment can be made to Amanda Koss via personal check, Cash App ($AmandaKoss), Venmo (@amanda-koss-5) or PayPal ([email protected]). When the artist/organizer receives payment they will report sales to Amanda Koss so they can be updated on the artwork tags.

Sold artwork can either be taken home at point of sale or at the end of exhibition. If sold work is taken as it sells, please have pieces ready to replace their spot.

Inventory Sheet: An itemized inventory spreadsheet needs to be emailed to: [email protected] no later than 72 hours before install date. Include: Piece title, artist name, dimensions, medium, price. Example:


Advertising:
Artist/organizer is required to supply an advertising image in square format for social and press release emails. Artist/organizer/contributing artists are expected to self advertise to gain the interest of the public and their following/collectors/local art scene. Artist/organizer is requested to supply a press release in the form of a .pdf document which will be distributed to various media outlets by Amanda Koss.

Installation:
Artist/organizer is expected to install artwork and provide ample help. Amanda Koss will be on site during the installation process. The gallery does not contain a hanging system, nails will need to be used and supplied by the Artist/organizer along with a hammer. Please supply picture hanging nails with hooks or 1.5” common nails for hanging.

Opening Reception: Available and will be discussed upon acceptance.

Insurance: Artist/organizer is required to obtain insurance if they would like it. The Community Arts Gallery, First Merchants Bank and Amanda Koss are not responsible for loss, damage, theft, fire or environmental impacts.

I agree that (please check each):
- My artwork does not contain nudity, profanity, and not of political and religious nature.
- My artwork will arrive ready to be hung with a stable wire and/or frame.
- I will supply ample help with hanging my show.
- The Community Arts Gallery/Amanda Koss reserves the right to deny exhibition of my work
at any time if these rules are not adhered to.
- I will submit my advertising image for socials and media outlets to Amanda Koss ASAP
