44th Virginia Watercolor Society 2023 Juried Exhibition

Paintings must be in watercolor and/or other water-based media including acrylic, casein, gouache, water-soluble ink, and egg tempera on paper or Yupo. No canvas, digital, computer generated or Gicleé art. If other mediums are used, water based media must dominate the piece. Collage elements will be accepted if the adhered paper pieces are painted in water-media by the artist. No computer generated, digital or printed clippings will be allowed. All entries must have been completed on or after January 1, 2019 and not have been painted under supervision. Works may not infringe upon another’s copyright. If photo references are used, they must be the artist’s own photographs. Paintings accepted for previous VWS juror exhibitions are ineligible.
Minimum frame size in any directions is 14".
Maximum size in any direction is 40".
This includes diptychs and triptychs, which must be in a single frame.
List artwork dimensions as height x width, framed. List artwork medium in "material" section.

A maximum of three (3) digital images, (no larger than 4 megabytes per image), in JPEG/JPG format with 300 dpi resolution may be submitted. The shortest side of the image should be no smaller than 1,200 pixels (4").
Crop your painting to show only the image, without text, matting, frame, or background. Image files should be named as follows:
Artist LastName_FirstName_EntryNo_ArtworkTitle.jpeg.
Example: Smith_John_1_MorningSunrise.jpeg

Use only underscores when naming files. Please do not use spaces, hyphens, commas, or other special characters.

ALL ONLINE ENTRIES FOR THE 44th ANNUAL VWS EXHIBITION MUST BE Completed No Later Than Friday, June 16, 2023, Midnight (EST)

SALES: All submissions must include prices. Not For Sale artwork is acceptable. Please list insurance value for NFS artwork in the price section as ($value/NFS). Prices as listed on entry form may not be changed. A 40% commission will be charged by WCAC on sales. Please consider this fee when determining your price. Members will have to provide a W-9 form to WCAC to complete the transaction. It is not necessary to provide the W-9 prior to the exhibition.
