About This Call
The Redevelopment Agency (RDA) of Midvale City in partnership with Zions Bancorporation is seeking qualified artists to design and install a mural for the Jordan Bluffs Public Art Program. The mural will be located on the Zions Bank Technology Campus parking garage, on the outermost West-facing wall along Bingham Junction Boulevard. The mural dimensions are approximately 42 feet tall by 46 feet wide (1,932 square feet).
Selected artists will be asked to consider one or more of Zions Bancorporation's "Five Commitments" (bolstering business growth and innovation, making clients stronger, fostering economic opportunity, supporting employees, and building communities) or themes of teamwork, innovation, sustainability, and trust in their proposals. The selection process will occur in two stages: an initial committee meeting to select no more than three finalists, followed by a second meeting where finalists present full proposals and one design is chosen for installation. The final recommendation will be presented to City Council for approval.
Artists must be 18 years or older with prior mural painting experience. The budget cap is $50,000.00, which must include all travel and per diem costs. Selected artists must demonstrate extensive professional experience including collaboration, technical expertise with lifts and safety equipment, and ability to meet deadlines. Artists must provide proof of liability insurance and enter into a written agreement with the Midvale City RDA. The mural must be painted between September 26, 2024 and October 10, 2024. Applicants should submit 5-10 images of previous work. This call is open to all artists regardless of location, race, creed, gender, sexual orientation, national origin, religion, or disability.
