Your Place at the Table III: Rooted

Your Place at the Table III: Rooted is an annual exhibition created to provide an opportunity for marginalized artists to engage audiences in conversations on identity, representation, validation, and history. Now in its third year, the exhibition seeks works that offer empowering interpretations of the theme "Rooted." While open to any living artist, the goal is to amplify the voices of artists who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color) who are often overlooked or met with more barriers to entry within the art world.

The visual art exhibition will be held at 311 Gallery in Downtown Raleigh, North Carolina during January 2023. This is not a digital exhibition; accepted work must be shipped or hand delivered to the gallery. The exhibition is open to all 2D, 3D, and video media. Entries must not exceed 48 inches in any dimension. If accepted, 2D artworks must hang by wire, and 3D works must be able to stand with no or minimal assistance. Work must be original and completed in the last 3 years. A maximum of 3 works per artist may be submitted, with up to 6 images for jurying purposes.

Entry fee is $20 for one work, plus an additional $5 per additional work submitted (maximum $45 for 6 works). All entry fees are non-refundable and support 311 Gallery's operations as a Black Woman-Owned Business. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. CST on December 5, 2022. If accepted, works must be received by the gallery no later than December 31, 2022. Artists will be notified of delivery dates and information after the call closes. 311 Gallery retains a 40% commission for all work sold during the exhibit (after processing fees).
