Your Place at the Table II

Your Place at the Table II is an open call exhibition for artists—national, regional, and local—to engage audiences in conversations on identity, representation, validation, and history. The exhibition asks: When presented with the opportunity, how would you show up to your place at the table? The call is open to any living artist. While the gallery asks whether applicants identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color), Hispanic, Latinx, or LGBTQIA, not identifying as such will not disqualify you from selection. Art will be juried on artistic merit, with a focus on providing equity to underrepresented individuals. 311 Gallery is a Black Woman-Owned Business.

The visual art exhibition will be held at 311 Gallery in Downtown Raleigh, North Carolina during November 2021. This is not a digital exhibition; accepted work must be shipped or hand-delivered to the gallery. The exhibition is open to all 2D, 3D, and video media. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. CST on September 30, 2021. Work must not exceed 48 inches in any dimension. A maximum of 3 works of any 2D or 3D medium per artist may be submitted. Work must be original and completed in the last 3 years. No copies, mechanical reproductions, molds, or kit work will be accepted. If accepted, 2D artworks must hang by wire, and 3D works must be able to stand with no or minimal assistance. Video pieces will only be accepted if they are captioned. Artists will be notified of delivery dates and information after the call closes. Accepted works must be received by the gallery no later than October 29, 2021.

Entry fee is $20 for three pieces; all entry fees are non-refundable and support making 311 a sustainable business. 311 Gallery will retain a 40% commission for all work sold during the exhibit (after processing fees). Commission checks for purchased works are mailed to the artist one month after sale. 311 Gallery is not liable for artwork during transportation to or from the gallery and reserves the right to refuse coverage to artwork with inherent vices, high values, or that is deemed unstable.
