Your Place at the Table

Your Place at the Table offers an opportunity for artists—national, regional, and local—to engage audiences in conversations on identity, representation, validation, and history. The exhibition is open to any living artist, with priority given to artists who identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, and People of Color). Not identifying as BIPOC will not disqualify you from selection; art will be juried on artistic merit while seeking to provide equity to underrepresented individuals.

This visual art exhibition will be held at 311 Gallery in Downtown Raleigh, North Carolina during November 2020. The exhibition is open to all 2D, 3D, and video media. Work must be original and completed in the last 3 years. Entries must not exceed 48 inches in any dimension. A maximum of 4 works per artist may be submitted. The entry fee is $20 for four pieces. Entries must be received by 11:59 p.m. on October 18, 2020. If accepted, works must be received by the gallery no later than October 31, 2020.

For 2D work, submit one JPEG per entry cropped to show only the artwork. For 3D work, submit three JPEGs (one full shot and up to two details) per entry. Images should be at least 1000px at their widest dimension and not exceed 4MB per image. Video samples should be edited to no longer than 2 minutes and submitted as links to online sharing formats (Vimeo, YouTube, Dropbox, Hulu) or as Quicktime files no larger than 720px width and 10MB file size. Video pieces will only be accepted if captioned. If accepted, 2D artworks must hang by wire; 3D works must be able to stand with no or minimal assistance. 311 Gallery will retain a 35% commission for all work sold during the exhibit.
