About This Call

The Yountville Public Art Walk seeks outdoor sculptures for approximately 23 sites located throughout the town along Washington Street and in parks, all visible from the sidewalk or walking path. Existing concrete pads vary in size from 4' x 4' to 6' x 6'.

Artwork Specifications: The sculpture footprint must be smaller than the pad and securely anchored with bolts provided by the artist. Artwork must weigh no more than 2,000 pounds. Any projections beyond the pad perimeter must occur at a minimum of 7' above ground. Sculptures must be structurally safe for public display with all components securely fastened and must arrive in the same condition as portrayed in submitted photographs. Selected artists will receive a $2,500 stipend to assist with transportation and installation expenses, paid upon successful installation.

Submission Requirements: Submit 1-6 images and up to 1 video. Each sculpture must be submitted individually. Images should accurately represent the work. Artists must include a description of each work including dimensions, weight, title, medium, date of construction, cleaning and maintenance instructions, and sale price. Completed artworks are preferred; if conceptual sculptures are proposed, provide design drawings and in-progress photos. Sculptures will be selected based on artistic merit, artistic context, maintainability, and suitability for public display. Selected artists must accompany their artwork to town, complete installation, sign a Voluntary Artist Agreement, provide maintenance instructions, and attend an art reception. The Town will maintain insurance for the sculpture, maintain the artwork and surrounding area, provide marketing including press releases, brochures, website recognition, signage, and invitations to participate in annual art events.
