Yountville Outdoor Sculpture Walk

The Yountville Art Walk program, presented by Yountville Arts, invites artists to exhibit sculptures on a temporary loan basis throughout the town's one-mile main street. The program is designed to promote the enjoyment of public art in Yountville's pedestrian-friendly atmosphere. Over 5,000 visitors per day walk along the streets, and the Art Walk currently features over 20 sculptures. Artists who have participated have sold eight pieces to visitors in the past year.

Artists may submit up to 3 pieces. Sculptures will be selected based on artistic merit, artistic context, maintainability, and suitability for public display. Selected artists will receive a $1,500 stipend to assist with transportation and installation expenses, paid upon successful installation. Sculptures accepted into the Art Walk will be on loan to the Town of Yountville for up to two years unless sold.

Artwork must meet specific requirements: footprint smaller than the concrete pad (4' x 4' to 6' x 6'), weigh no more than 2,000 pounds, be securely anchored with bolts, and have any projections beyond the pad at a minimum of 7' above ground. Kinetic sculptures are welcome if moving parts are at least 7 feet off the ground and not removable. Artists must accompany their artwork to town and complete installation, provide maintenance instructions, sign a Voluntary Artist Agreement, and attend an art reception. The Town will maintain insurance, provide marketing including press releases, brochures, website recognition, and a plaque at the sculpture's base.
