About This Call
The Young Curators of the Roaring Fork invite high school–aged artists from Pitkin, Eagle, and Garfield counties to submit artworks in any medium for the 2019 exhibition. The exhibition theme is "Superstition," exploring magical thinking and beliefs that are personal, universal, or historical. Artists can respond to the theme through any artistic medium.
Submissions are due February 19, 2019. Final artwork selection will be announced March 12, 2019. The exhibition runs April 13–28, 2019. Submissions must include 2 work samples total (images, audio, or video). No late submissions will be accepted. The Aspen Art Museum reserves the right to refuse artwork submissions.
The Young Curators of the Roaring Fork is a six-month internship program where interns work directly with the museum's Education and Curatorial staff and visiting lecturers, building aesthetic valuation, leadership, organizational, and critical-thinking skills. The internship culminates in this museum exhibition of artworks created by their peers. For more information, contact Annie Henninger, Access and Education Program Manager, at [email protected] or 970-925-8050 ext. 132.
