Young Contemporaries 2026: 42nd Annual Juried Student Exhibition

Young Contemporaries 2026 is the 42nd Annual Juried Student Exhibition hosted by Laband Art Gallery at Loyola Marymount University. This exhibition is intended for undergraduate students enrolled at Loyola Marymount University. All artwork will be judged and selected by two art-world professionals: Cara Megan Lewis, Deputy Director of The Wende Museum, Los Angeles, and Vicki Phung Smith, Curator of The Skirball Cultural Center, Los Angeles. Jurors evaluate artwork based on the strength of ideas and their realization in the work, with no set theme or criteria.

Online submissions are open from December 3, 2025 through March 21, 2026 at 5:00 pm PT. Notification of results will be provided by the end of March 2026. The in-person exhibition will be held April 23-May 16, 2026. The two jurors will select artwork for inclusion in the exhibition and recognize several outstanding artworks with special commendation and cash prizes. Art Department scholarships are also awarded to students who participate in this exhibition.
