Yellowstone Art Auction 57

Yellowstone Art Auction 57 is a juried exhibition open to all original 2-D and 3-D media except jewelry. The exhibition runs February 7 - March 8, 2025, at the Yellowstone Art Museum in Billings, Montana. Up to three works may be submitted; works must be created within the last five years and cannot have been submitted to past Art Auctions. Reproductions, including giclées and mechanical prints on canvas, are not eligible. The application deadline is November 3, 2024. Applications submitted through September 1, 2024 are free with coupon code AA57; applications after September 2, 2024 require a $35 entry fee. Jury notification will be sent November 22, 2024, and accepted artwork must be delivered by December 15, 2024.

Accepted artists receive inclusion in the silent auction exhibition in the museum's main galleries, a special invitation to the opening reception and live auction gala, one copy of the full-color catalog, online catalog listing, regional advertising and promotion, and special acknowledgment for artists making full donations. A 50-word artist statement is required. Digital images must be submitted (minimum 8" x 5" at 300 dpi), with one image per artwork entry and up to three additional detail images available by email. All 2-D works must be framed and ready to hang; 3-D works must have proper supports and installation instructions. Over-sized works (2-D exceeding 48" wide x 72" high, or 3-D over 100 pounds) are discouraged.

The YAM will retain a percentage of sales based on the artist's chosen donation split (minimum 50%). Bidding starts at no less than 70% of submitted retail value. Unsold works are returned to artists at YAM expense via FedEx. A Buy-It-Now option allows patrons to purchase silent auction works at full retail cost plus surcharge before March 8. Unclaimed artwork after April 1, 2025 incurs a $20 daily storage fee.
