About This Call
The Wyoming Arts Council will award up to two fellowships to honor excellence in music performance by Wyoming residents. Instrumentalists and vocalists in any genre are invited to apply by submitting samples of their work performed in the last five years. Performing Arts Fellowships are on a four-year rotation schedule among Music Composition, Theatre & Dance Performance, Music Performance, and Theatre Direction, Dance Choreography and Design for the Stage.
Applicants must submit up to 6 work samples from the past five years, with a mix of video and audio. Performances can feature original music or music composed by others. All samples must have any mention of the applicant's name removed, as the Wyoming Arts Council uses a blind judging process with out-of-state jurors. Video and audio samples must conform to CaFE requirements.
Eligibility requirements include: must be at least 18 years old; domiciled in Wyoming for at least 10 months per year since July 1, 2012, and must remain a Wyoming resident until June 30, 2015; not a full-time student pursuing high school, college, or university music-related degrees; not received a fellowship within the last four years or the last time this category was offered; may receive a total of two fellowship awards in their lifetime; must be a U.S. citizen or have legal resident status; may not be affiliated with the Wyoming Arts Council as a board member, staff member, or family member; and may not be an employee of the Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources. Out-of-state performances exceeding two months per year will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
