Wyoming Arts Council Performing Arts Fellowships 2013

The Wyoming Arts Council will award up to two fellowships to honor the most exciting, creative work by Wyoming residents in dance and theatre performance. This year's category is Theatre & Dance Performance. Fellowships were reinstated by the WAC in 2002, with categories defined on a four-year rotation: Year One: Music Composition; Year Two: Theatre & Dance Performance; Year Three: Music Performance; Year Four: Theatre Direction, Dance Choreography and Design for the Stage.

Eligibility requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age; must have been domiciled within Wyoming for a total of 20 months in the previous two years; must be a U.S. citizen or have legal resident status; may not be affiliated with the Wyoming Arts Council as a board member, staff member, or their families; may not be an employee of the Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources; must remain a Wyoming resident for at least one year after award, living in the state for at least 10 months of the year; must not be a full-time student pursuing high school, college or university dance- or theatre-related degrees; must not have received a fellowship within the last four years or the last time this particular category was offered; may receive a total of two fellowship awards in their lifetime. All samples, reviews and other information must pertain to works in the past five years (with the exception of the Curriculum Vitae).

Award recipients will receive $3,000, with $2,250 paid initially and the remaining $750 paid upon submission of a final report due July 31, 2014. Recipients must supply a photograph for publicity, retain all rights to work produced during the award period, and remain Wyoming residents through June 30, 2014. Opportunities for out-of-state performances exceeding two months per year will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis. Work samples should include 1-6 videos and 1-6 total samples.
