WTWS Signature Fall Show

The West Texas Watercolor Society (WTWS) is hosting the Signature Fall Show, running October 6–28, 2023, at the Broadway Contemporary Fine Art Gallery, 1919 Broadway, Lubbock, Texas. The exhibition is open to all WTWS members. Membership dues of $40 for 2023-2024 must be paid by September 4, 2023, to be eligible. Members may enter up to three paintings for $20 per entry.

All paintings must be created using 90% water media (watercolor, gouache, acrylics, watercolor inks, acrylic inks, egg tempera, watercolor pencils, and watercolor crayons) on paper, yupo, Tyvek, water media board, or canvas. Artwork must be original, completed within the last two years, and without instructor supervision. The minimum painted image size is 100 square inches, with a maximum outside framed size of 24 inches in either direction. Paintings must be ready to hang with wire using D-rings. Artwork on paper must be framed under clear glass or Plexiglass with a mat or floated. Class or workshop art, artwork from previous WTWS judged shows, diptychs, triptychs, nudes, oils, water-soluble oils, alcohol inks, computer-generated art, digital media, and photography are not eligible.

Juror Jeannie McGuire will select accepted work and award over $2,000 in cash prizes, including Best of Show ($1,000), 1st Place ($500), and additional awards at the juror's discretion. Accepted artists will be notified by email on September 18. All accepted work must be delivered by October 2. The awards reception and jury selection will be held on October 8 at 2:30 p.m. at Talkington YWCS at Sun 'N' Fun, 6204 Elgin Avenue, Lubbock, Texas. All artwork juried into the show will be included in a color catalog provided to each participating artist.
