"Wrapped in Creativity": 1202 Contemporary's 4th Annual Holiday Group Small Works Show

1202 Contemporary is holding its 4th annual Holiday Group Show in their newly renovated space. This show celebrates art as a form of gift giving. Artists are encouraged to submit several interchangeable works that are 30x30 or smaller and under $1000. Collectors can purchase works on the spot and take them home the same day. The theme is open; while not a holiday-themed show, artists are welcome to submit holiday-themed works.

Priority for the in-person show will be given to Bay Area artists, but artists from across the globe are welcome to submit. The gallery will choose 30-35 pieces to be displayed in-person and on Artsy.net. 1202 Collective Executive Members can apply for free by entering "1202Col" at checkout and receive guaranteed entry. All works must be for sale. Commission rates are 20% to the gallery if sold in the gallery or on the website, and 28% if sold on Artsy. Shipped works are accepted; shipping costs are the artist's responsibility.

The opening reception is November 9th at 6:30pm, coinciding with the gallery's 5-year anniversary party. Guests are invited to embody the show's theme and wrap themselves in creativity. Prizes will be awarded for Best Dressed and Most Creative Dress. Live music, mask decorating, food, and refreshments will be available. Artist notifications: 10/31-11/3. Artwork drop-off: 10/31-11/8 (Wed-Sat 11am-5pm or Sun-Tues by appointment). Artwork pick-up: 1/11-1/17 (Wed-Sat 11am-5pm or Sun-Tues by appointment). Entry fee: $25. Work samples: 1-5 images, 0-5 audio files, 0-5 video files (1-5 total samples). All works must be delivered by November 8th at 5pm.
