About This Call

The City of Frisco Public Art Program is issuing a Request for Qualifications for a public art opportunity at Wranglers' Range Neighborhood Park, located off Backstretch Boulevard and Cedar Ranch Road in the Phillips Creek Ranch subdivision. This 8.0-acre neighborhood park will be adjacent to a future FISD School and will include aesthetic improvements, a shade structure, children's playground, multi-use court, walking trails, and landscape improvements.

The public art should be engaging for children of all ages and families, light hearted, reflect the history of the surrounding area, be welcoming to visitors, visually attractive, and made of low maintenance, permanent materials. The project budget is $23,900.00 all-inclusive, encompassing artist fees, fabrication costs, transportation, insurance, engineering services, permit fees, site prep, installation, and all other related expenses.

Qualifications must be submitted online by 4:00 p.m. CST, Wednesday, January 4, 2017. Submissions must include a completed cover page, typed cover letter describing your interest and how it relates to your past work, typed artist resume (no longer than three pages), three references with current contact information, and no more than 15 images of past work (with the first five being most relevant to this RFQ). The Artist Selection Committee will evaluate qualifications based on demonstrated excellence of past work, quality of professional qualifications and relevant experience, stated interest and approach, and ability to create work meeting project goals. Finalists may be requested to develop proposals or be interviewed. This opportunity is open to all artists internationally. Questions should be submitted to [email protected] by 4 p.m. CST on Wednesday, December 14, 2016.
