Works on Paper 2026

Works on Paper 2026 is the 28th Annual National Juried Competition and Exhibition at the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts & Sciences, Long Beach Island, New Jersey. The competition welcomes entries of original work created within the last two years that explore varied media utilizing paper. Works on Paper can include but are not limited to drawing, painting on paper, hand-pulled prints, photographic prints, digitally created artwork displayed as prints, and paper constructions that can be wall hung. The juror will select 65 artworks to be displayed in the gallery.

The competition is open to artists 18 years and older residing in the continental USA. Entry fee is $35.00 for up to 3 entries (non-refundable). Awards include $1,000 first prize, $250 second prize, $100 third prize and three honorable mentions. Artists do not have to be present to receive their awards. A printed catalog of selected artwork is planned to accompany the gallery exhibition.

Two-dimensional works should not exceed 60 inches in width and height, and not exceed 10 lbs, though larger work is encouraged and allowed. All works must be for sale and available for the duration of the exhibition. The foundation retains a 40% commission on all works sold. Work must be suitably framed with black, white, or natural wood frames, firmly wired and prepared for hanging. All paper must be displayed framed and protected under acrylic. Exhibition dates are May 16 - July 5, 2026.
