Works on Paper 2025

Works on Paper 2025 is the 27th Annual National Juried Competition and Exhibition at the Long Beach Island Foundation of the Arts & Sciences. The competition welcomes entries of original work created within the last two years that explore varied media utilizing paper. Works on Paper can include drawing, painting on paper, hand-pulled prints, photographic prints, digitally created artwork displayed as prints, and paper constructions that may be wall hung.

The juror for 2025 is Samantha Friedman, Curator in the Department of Drawings and Prints at The Museum of Modern Art, NYC. The juror will select 65 artworks to be on display in the gallery. Three cash prizes and three honorable mentions will be awarded: $1,000 first prize, $250 second prize, $100 third prize. A printed catalog of selected artwork is planned to accompany the exhibition.

Eligibility: Artists 18 years and older residing in the continental USA. Entry fee is $35.00 for up to 3 entries (non-refundable). Submit 1-3 images in JPEG format, 1200 pixels or greater on the longest side, under 5 MB. Include a 1-2 page document with artist statement, bio, and resume. Two-dimensional works should not exceed 60 inches in width and height, and not exceed 10 lbs. Work may not project beyond 18 inches in the third dimension. All works must be for sale. The Long Beach Island Foundation will retain a 40% commission on all works sold during the exhibition. Works must be suitably framed in black, white, or natural wood frames, with paper displayed under acrylic (not glass). Entry deadline: March 27, 2025 at 11:59 p.m. MDT.
